Heineken was one of the first beers I ever had, and I hated it. The stuff came pretty close to scaring me away from beer, but luckily I discovered better, tastier beers. It's been awhile since that first taste, so I decided to see what I think of Heinken now that I've tried a wider variety of beer. Was it better the second time?

Appearance: Golden yellow with a fizzy head that fades very quickly. Lacing is pretty much nonexistent.

Smell: Macroskunk. The smell is nearly indistinguishable from Bud, MGD, or any other American macro.

Taste: I bought a "keg can" to make sure that the taste wasn't affected by light, and it didn't help it one bit. The taste is an obnoxious mix of the usual sweet & grainy macro elements with that sour Heine taste that everyone refers to as "Euroskunk." It's not quite as disastrous as I remember, but it's far from appealing.

Mouthfeel: Light and highly carbonated.
